VPS are virtual servers with dedicated IP ADDRESSES that are hosted on BARE-METAL devices, many virtual servers can be created with the power of TYPE 1 and TYPE 2 Virtualization. VPS are created via type1 and type 2 virtualization.
The virtual machine will host machine images, and the machine image will consume CPU and MEMORY resources. VPS are highly customizable, portable, and extendable.
Virtualization helps to host multiple virtual machines in one hardware, Virtualization is simply a revolution in the digital era, thanks to virtualization retail users can now easily afford high-performance VPS.
Virtualization can be of two types:
- TYPE 1 VIRTUALIZATION
- TYPE 2 VIRTUALIZATION
TYPE 1 Virtualization is called the BARE METAL VIRTUALIZATION ,servers will not have an OS layer instead it will be the hypervisor software eg CITRIX, XENDESK, MICROSOFT HYPER V, these solutions are layered over the bare metal device.
The other type is TYPE 2 Hypervisors and these are the hypervisors that is installed in DESKTOP / PC/ OFFICE COMPUTER, some examples are VM WARE and VIRTUAL BOX.
The hypervisor is placed over the OS in the case of TYPE 2 HYPERVISOR (Virtualization) because TYPE 2 HYPERVISORS are installed on OS LAYER and GUI-based platforms will be leveraged to spin up, spin down, manage, and orchestrate virtual servers.
TYPE 1 HYPERVISOR are more expensive and business-oriented, enterprise-centric, type 1 will have a higher learning curve and are complex.Type 1 Hypervisors: Microsoft Hyper V | Citrix XenServer

Type 1 hypervisors are more enterprise-centric and are hosted on OS and they have a lower learning curve than type 2 hypervisors.
